Renting from Sue was such a treat! I came down to Maui with just my backpack and a car rental reservation, and she hooked me up with everything else, and I mean literally everything. Tent, sleeping bags, lanterns, stove, air mattress, cooler, chair, plus an awesome essentials box with some much appreciated extra items. She was also super communicative while I was planning everything, and the pickup spot is super convenient. I think that compared to what other companies give you

Sue was wonderful to work with. She made sure our family had what we needed for a fun-filled adventure with plenty of creature comforts. We considered packing our own gear in this trip, but I'm glad we didn't bother with the hassle and expense. The gear from Maui Camping Company was clean and great quality, from the PacoPad sleeping pads to the Yeti cooler. Sue included both practical and fun additions beyond what we expected such as playing cards, hand sanitizer and extra matches. The attention to detail was much appreciated; she truly thought of everything. Pick up and drop off of gear was easy and smooth. I highly recommend this company!

We instead opted to rent backcountry kits through Maui Camping Company and were so glad that we did! Susan was easy to communicate with and the rental process was extremely straightforward. The gear was ready to pick up the evening before, which was ideal for hitting the trails in Haleakala early in the morning. Everything in the kit was top-of-the-line, well-maintained, and even better than the gear we personally own. The kits have everything you could need for an amazing backcountry camping experience!
